Back in the early months of 2011, Thomson Holidays announced its biggest air carrier overhauls with the initiation of 22 Boeing 737-800s, the final lot of which will become functional by 2013. This marks an unprecedented change in British aviation trends. While customers might think of this expansion as rise in costs of flight tickets when they take a holiday package from the travel giant, Thomson representatives actually point to the opposite. According to them, this will only reduce the cost further along with CO2 emissions. The part of reduced passenger fares comes directly from the plane’s higher fuel economy.
As such, passengers being booked on a 737-800 for long haul flights are sure to enjoy up to 15-17% slash in prices. As a result, many fliers are now able to experience the first class treatment on Thomson Airways for much less than what someone would have had to pay for the services earlier.
